Seated or standing lets dance our way to fitness in a fun relaxed atmosphere and improve our fitness levels both mentally and physically. You will learn various styles of dance and exercises that can help improve your daily life, exercises that you can do at home.

Course aim

Seated or standing, lets dance our way to fitness in a fun relaxed atmosphere. Improve your balance, mobility, strength and well-being, share recipes and ideas for a healthier lifestyle. share our community's news and activities.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed
  • This course is suitable for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Identify one breathing technique.
  • Demonstrate Ballet exercise - Grade 2 - Preparation for Grande Battements.
  • Demonstrate a seated exercise which helps improve circulation.
  • Apply a healthier food option to your weekly menu.
  • Identify an exercise that will improve your 'core' muscles (Tummy muscles).

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning
  • Research into the weekly session's topic covered is always welcome and encouraged.

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion
  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
  • You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning
  • You will be encouraged to consider other students work and give your opinions and suggestions
  • A Student Learning record will be kept which will help record your progress.

What else do I need to know?

  • Nothing else is needed
  • A selection of materials and basic equipment will be provided but you are welcome to bring additional materials with you
  • Wear comfortable clothing and supportive footwear. Own research into a 'Healthier lifestyle' is always encouraged and most welcome.

Pre-course work, reading and information sources

  • No pre reading or pre course work is required
  • No pre reading is required but research on the subject on the internet or in the library may be helpful
