Tai Chi is an excellent way to exercise gently, reduce your stress levels, improve your physical and mental health and keep your brain active. This course is only open to those who have already attended a WEA Tai Chi class.

Course aim
To promote body awareness, body alignment and improved balance. To enhance confidence and give an understanding of some effects and control measures relating to stress. In addition to this the course will introduce some of the more advanced T’ai Chi.
Do I need any particular skills or experience?
- This course is for improvers
By the end of the course I should be able to:
- G1, Complete form to cross hands; G2,Complete form to cloud hands; G3, understanding form applications.
- Describe the importance of the Bear posture, and demonstrate the key elements.
- Demonstrate Postures of San Shou A to the individual levels.
- Demonstrate two push hands exercises, or Da Lu.
How will I be taught?
- The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning
- You may be asked to undertake additional work in your own time to support your learning
What kind of feedback can I expect?
- A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion
- You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
- You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning
- You will be encouraged to consider other students work and give your opinions and suggestions
- You will be asked to Demonstrate your level of understanding, at the same time as the rest of the group.
What else do I need to know?
- Please bring a bottle of water. You may also wish to bring a pen and note pad (this is not needed, although some students like to take notes).

- No pre reading or pre course work is required
What can I do next?
- Progress to another WEA course
- This course is progressive in nature, and the level you achieve will continue to develop on a follow on course. Although you may have completed the main form your journey has only just begun.
