Stress and Meditation

Ref: C2524913

You will learn to become aware of situations that may cause you to become stressed. You will learn how to change your breathing to reduce the effects of stress, and progressive muscle relaxation to help you relax when feeling tense or having difficulty falling asleep. You will practice your breathing and muscle relaxation exercises before being taken through a guided meditation which will help you to become familiar with both the technique and effects of meditation in a safe and supported environment. You will share your meditation experience with the group, if that feels comfortable, and be encouraged to personalise your meditation journey. You will use a personal journal to help you record your progress and to identify any difficulties encountered with the techniques. You will move on to practising on your own without a meditation guide. You will learn a simple, but effective, method to prevent or reduce the severity of an anxiety attack.
