Beginners Spanish

Ref: C2524835

This course builds on two previous WEA Spanish Beginners courses, so some knowledge of basic vocabulary and language structures is needed if you are joining for the first time. The emphasis is on using language in everyday situations when visiting Spanish speaking countries. This is achieved through the exposition and repetition of key phrases, the use of themed, structured role play exercises and listening to audio material spoken by native speakers. Topics studied so far are: 1. Asking for and understanding simple directions & tourist information. 2. Simple shopping transactions: buying souvenirs, clothes, snacks, a meal. 3. Describing people: talking about yourself & your family, your likes and dislikes, what you do in your free time, talking about where you live & your nationality. 4. Telling the time, using and understanding numbers up to 1000.
