This course supports learners to develop their use of Tai Chi Qigong. The theory is applied that correlates the emotional and mental well-being with the physical movements. Learner with improve their breathing and visualisation techniques.
Course aim
To provide learners with the opportunity to experience Tai Chi Qigong in an environment conducive to their relaxation. Learners will be given instructions on posture, movement, breathing and visualisations.
Do I need any particular skills or experience?
- No skills or experience needed
- This course is suitable for beginners and improvers
- This course is for women only as it is held in a women's centre
By the end of the course I should be able to:
- Demonstrate three Tai Chi movements
- Stand in the basic posture
- Give a translation for Dantien
- Know which direction to move with the inhale
How will I be taught?
- The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning
What kind of feedback can I expect?
- A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion
- You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
- You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning
