A history course, which takes a 'what if' approach, looking at Cromwell's role in the English Civil War, and discussing what might have happened if he had been on the loosing side in the conflict

Course aim

To provide an introduction to a virtual history approach to the English Civil War. Investigating Cromwell's role in the conflict and speculating on what might have happened if he had not been successful.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Gain a basic understanding of a virtual history approach to history
  • Gain a basic understanding of the role played by Cromwell in the English Civil War
  • Consider some of the alternative outcomes which might have taken place if Cromwell had lost the war

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion

What else do I need to know?

  • Nothing else is needed
