A lively five week course where we will look at all forms of creative writing ... It could be a short story, a novel, a poem, a memoir or even a play. The theme is writing for pleasure, the sheer enjoyment of seeing your thoughts and experiences put into writing.

Course aim
Come and enjoy telling your story and hearing others tell theirs. Writing is often the most exciting way to express yourself.
Do I need any particular skills or experience?
- No skills or experience needed
- This course is suitable for beginners and improvers
- A passion for the written word.
By the end of the course I should be able to:
- To enjoy writing
- to appreciate the work of other students
- to enjoy works of poetry and prose.
- to have completed a poem or short piece of prose or drama
- to continue writing when the course finishes.
How will I be taught?
- Exercises and games set in class to stimulate creativity. Visual prompts like pieces of art and musical prompts.. Discussion and feedback in class.
What kind of feedback can I expect?
- A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion
- You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
- You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning
- You will be encouraged to consider other students work and give your opinions and suggestions
- A file of work will be kept which will help to record your progress
- There will be a number of tasks appropriate to your course such as written work, creating art or craft, video, photography or small projects. Some of these may be marked to help you progress
