The course is a practical and informative introduction to mindfulness. Learning to live in the present moment can help in all areas of our lives, including work, relationships, creativity, memory and decision making. Using core themes we will explore what mindfulness is, its benefits, and ways in which to incorporate mindfulness into everyday life to enhance overall wellbeing.

Course aim

The course aims to introduce students to mindfulness theory, together will skills and techniques that can be incorporated into everyday life to enhance mindfulness practice

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Understand what mindfulness is
  • Know how it can benefit my health and wellbeing
  • Learn how to incorporate it into my everyday life
  • Practice a series of mindful meditations
  • Develop a personal plan for daily mindfulness practice

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion

What else do I need to know?

  • Nothing else is needed
