Philosophy: An Introduction to Ethics Part 2

Ref: C2419825

This course will be an introduction to ethics. This will involve a consideration of how ethics is done. The class will be engaged with making their own evaluations of ethical theories. This will involve discussions of ordinary life and engage with many of the cultural, political and global concerns of our time. We shall also reflect upon the nature of ethics. For example we shall ask what does it mean to make a moral claim. Are moral claims, claims to absolute truth for all people or are they simply claims about a particular group, say religion, community or tribe? The class will involve readings but it will be very much discussion based.
