Movement to Music

Ref: C2341536

This 12-week course will have you "shaking your thing" to some of the best-loved music around. It will give you the right moves and the confidence to use them when you're next at a party or dance. Each lesson will start with a gentle warm up, followed with step-by-step instruction to perform a dance routine to some of the world's best-loved musicals, including Grease, Saturday Night Fever and Dirty Dancing. We will also explore traditional dances from other countries: learn the South American Salsa, Ireland's River Dance, and a Chinese fan dance. Once students have enough moves, they will be encouraged to choreograph their own dance. Costumes, hair and make up can also be tried to add to a memorable performance.

Course aim

Come and explore dance from all kinds of genres, ages and cultures. Watch and copy simple dance routines to up-beat music, building confidence to choreograph your own routine. We will have a go at recreating famous moves from well-loved musicals.
