This course is intended to improve students’ knowledge of customs and practices in the UK. Sessions with a range of activities will help students understand: Health topics such as: find your way in the hospital, going into hospital and talking about illness. Everyday activities such as: using transport, different types of transport and how we travel. Information about employability topics such as: reading job adverts, job roles and responsibilities and employment rights and responsibilities.

The course aims to teach students about living in Leicester and the UK.
Do I need any particular skills or experience?
- No skills or experience needed
By the end of the course I should be able to:
- Name different types of transport. .
- Develop vocabulary of travel and related language.
- Develop vocabulary of job roles and duties.
- Develop vocabulary related to hospitals.
- Understand vocabulary commonly found in job adverts.
How will I be taught?
- The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning
What kind of feedback can I expect?
- A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion
- You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
