An introduction to different aspects of computing using various applications found in Microsoft Office 2010.

Course aim

For the absolute beginner or anyone wishing to revise/refresh their computer skills after an absence from IT technology using Microsoft Office 2010 programs.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed
  • This course is for beginners

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Demonstrate greater confidence in using a computer/laptop.
  • Identify computer basics.
  • Access various Microsoft Office 2010 programs, for example, Word 2010, PowerPoint 2010, Publisher 2010, Internet and Email.
  • Create documents using text and pictures, use basic Microsoft Office 2010 functions, for example, open, close, save and print.

How will I be taught?

  • Learners work through tutor created resources designed to build confidence and develop new IT skills.

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor

What else do I need to know?

  • All materials will be provided

  • No pre reading or pre course work is required
