This course will work with a range of yoga postures/asanas: seated, lying, standing and inverted. The sessions are adapted to the needs of the individual and each session will finish with both meditation and a guided relaxation.
Course aim
Mindfulness Yoga 1 is a course suitable for everyone: mind, body and breath working together.
Do I need any particular skills or experience?
- This course is suitable for beginners and improvers
By the end of the course I should be able to:
- Be familiar with a range of asanas.
- Practice the 7-Way Stretch for the term.
- Practice Salute to the Sun.
- Practice a guided meditation.
- Be familiar with the guided relaxation.
How will I be taught?
- The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning
- You may be asked to undertake additional work in your own time to support your learning
What kind of feedback can I expect?
- You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
What else do I need to know?
- Yoga mat and block. The latter can be purchased from the tutor if preferred.

- No pre reading is required but research on the subject on the internet or in the library may be helpful
