Course aim

A taster day using exercises in both poetry and prose for would-be and returning creative writers.

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Have a go at some prose exercises
  • Discuss what has been learned - and how this can be used outside the classroom.
  • Learn some techniques in editing and polishing.
  • Discover the joy of writing creatively in one session.

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning
  • Homework NA for this course as this is a taster day only, so just enjoy the methods on the day.

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
  • You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning
  • You will be encouraged to consider other students work and give your opinions and suggestions
