The History of Scotland in the 20th Century

Ref: C2340790

Scotland changed with industrialisation and then had to cope with the decline of heavy industry. We will focus on change through out the century. Also we will look at the development of Scottish nationalism and what this has meant for the United Kingdom. Many notable Scotsmen and women have shaped events in the twentieth century and played a part in both World Wars and the Cold War such as Lord George Robertson, Sir Alexander Fleming and John Logie Baird to name a few. This learning journey will assess how Scotland has developed as a nation and why the Scottish National Party has become so prominent and popular.
