Following on from last term giving encouragement to gain experience in Yang style Tai Chi and Health Qigong, to aid co-ordination, balance and flexibility. We will also be learning a little of Chinese medicine, also introducing the names of the movements and how this can be beneficial in practice.
Course aim
To follow on teaching Tai Chi and Health Qigong to help co-ordination balance and flexibility.
Do I need any particular skills or experience?
- No skills or experience needed
- This course is suitable for beginners and improvers
By the end of the course I should be able to:
- Feel confident working in your own capacity, to follow the routines taught.
- Retain a little knowledge of Chinese medicine.
- Know various postures and their names
- Learn how to move the body comfortably.
- learn how to relax.
How will I be taught?
- The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning
- You will be encouraged to practice at home.
What kind of feedback can I expect?
- You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
- You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning
What else do I need to know?
- Loose clothing and soft shoes
Pre-course work, reading and information sources
- No pre reading is required but research on the subject on the internet or in the library may be helpful
- you will be given web sites to look at if you wish to do self practice.
