Creative Writing

Ref: C2340722

Workshop activities on elements of poetry, memoir and short-story writing will feed into discussions about your own and other's writing. Particular emphasis will be placed on exploring how imagery can add an extra element to your writing and you will be encouraged to have a go at creating visual descriptions that can make a reader stop and think. Working to individual levels and interests, you will work through a series of practical workshops. We will look at using descriptive techniques to create atmosphere and enliven the senses and imagination of your readers. There will be a mix between creative writing exercises encouraging you to develop your own writing style, and workshops, where you will be supported to share and constructively critique writing produced by others. Everyone will be encouraged to share their writing but nobody will be expected to read their work until they are ready to do so. A relaxed, informal course with emphasis on encouraging confidence and enjoyment.
