Visit: Hawk and Owl Trust, Sculthorpe

The morning will commence with an illustrated talk about the history of the Trust, the development of Sculthorpe reserve and their participation with the Norwich Cathedral peregrines by Zoe Smith, Urban Peregrine Project Officer. After lunch we will have a guided tour of the reserve and see the recent developments including the completion of the extensive board-walk and elevated viewing hide.

Meet at Hawk and Owl Trust, Turf Moor Road, Sculthorpe, Fakenham NR21 9GN. Visit will finish at 15:30 as there will be a lunch break for 1 hour. Tea and coffee available on site but please bring a packed lunch.

Course aim

Illustrated talk about the history of the Trust and a guided tour of the reserve.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • discover the history of the trust and recent developments there
  • find out more about the connection between the trust and Norwich Cathedral peregrines.
  • discuss the importance knowledge plays in protecting our wildlife

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning

What else do I need to know?

  • ea and coffee availble at the site but you are advised to bring a packed lunch.
