Day School: Norfolk Wildlife Trust - Cley Reserve - Staff & Volunteers

Following a talk about the history of the Wildlife Trust with particular reference to Cley, there will be an hours break for lunch and for you to explore the gift shop and art gallery. There will then be a guided walk on the reserve. At this stage we may divide into two groups so the hides do not get overcrowded.

Start time 10:00 and ends at 4pm but included 1hour lunch break and tea breaks. Please note - the fee includes light lunches to be provided. Meet at NWT Cley Reserve, Coast Road, Cley, NR25 7SA. Car park on site.

Course aim

A talk about the history of the Wildlife Trust and a guided tour of the reserve.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Find out more about the Wildlife Trust and its current focus
  • Explore some of the wildlife in the reserve and surrounding area.
  • Gain an interest into the Wildlife Trust and find out how you can become involved.

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • Discussion with the tutor and other group members, possible Q&A.

What else do I need to know?

  • Comfortable walking shoes and bottled water to carry with you, if required.

Pre-course work, reading and information sources

  • No pre reading or pre course work is required

What can I do next?

  • Progress to another WEA course
  • Progress to a course with another provider
  • Become involved with the WEA in a range of voluntary work and other activities including campaigning as a WEA member
  • Become involved as a volunteer for a WEA partner or another organisation
