Explore the vibrant drama of the medieval period and early-sixteenth century. From the dramatic mystery plays to the often bawdy East Anglian plays, we will encounter saints, sinners and stage devils, as well as learning how to put on a play in Medieval East Anglia.
Course aim
To provide an introduction to the vibrant and spectacular drama of the medieval period and early-sixteenth century.

- No skills or experience needed
By the end of the course I should be able to:
- Identify different styles of drama from around Britain.
- Define what made East Anglian drama unique.
- Discuss the lifestyles of professional entertainers in medieval East Anglia.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of drama within various East Anglian communities.
How will I be taught?
- The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning
What kind of feedback can I expect?
- A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion

- You may like to bring note-taking equipment.
