Taster: Midsummer Ipswich Marina Walk

A late afternoon Midsummer stroll around the historical Ipswich marina. We will learn something about the area and share stories and information. We will also look to see what cafes and restaurants are available for future leisure activities.

No skills or experience needed. Open to all. Meet outside Cult Café, Unit 3 James Hehir Building, 5 University Avenue, Ipswich IP3 0FS

Course aim

To explore on foot the historical Ipswich docks with a view to sharing anecdotes and information and learning some historical facts about the area.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed
  • This course is suitable for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • share stories and information about Ipswich docks
  • Ask questions
  • demonstrate knowledge of historical facts
  • take photos with a mobile phone
  • Walk for about an hour and a half

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion

What else do I need to know?

  • Suitable footwear
