Citizenship Course - Taster To look at the Citizenship course and how it is delivered. During the taster course you will gain flavour of how British society runs. This is done through discussion and handouts.

Partner - English Plus will refer students onto course. Students should be around ESOL Entry 3 level to attend.

Course aim

To introduce the tutor to the learners. To gauge the learners literacy levels through discussion. To introduce the learners to the 6 modules of the citizenship course to see if it is the correct course for them.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed
  • This course is for beginners

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Identify if the full Citizenship course is for me.
  • Locate the new venue.
  • Recognise the tutor and know them by name.
  • Name the six modules of the follow on longer course.

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion

What else do I need to know?

  • A selection of materials and basic equipment will be provided but you are welcome to bring additional materials with you

Pre-course work, reading and information sources

  • No pre reading or pre course work is required
