Practical Digital Photography is a course to show how diverse Digital Photography is. The course will cover two very different elements of Photography, one being image restoration and re colouring and the second as Still life and Macro. The Restoration section will bring old style images into the 21st Century. We will repair and re colour old Black and White images and add colour to bring them back to life. The still life/ Macro section will enable us to learn new skills will our cameras capturing images that are all around us.

Course aim
Practical Digital Photography will be a course divided into two parts. The first part will be Image restoration and re colouring. The second element will be Still life and Macro.
Do I need any particular skills or experience?
- No skills or experience needed
- This course is suitable for beginners and improvers
By the end of the course I should be able to:
- Scan old images. Print. Negative and transparency.
- Restore old images.
- Re colour old images.
- Capture sill life / macro images.
- Use Photoshop. Make prints.
How will I be taught?
- The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning
What kind of feedback can I expect?
- A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion
- You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
- You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning
- You will be encouraged to consider other students work and give your opinions and suggestions
- A file of work will be kept which will help to record your progress
What else do I need to know?
- Nothing else is needed
- All materials will be provided
- A selection of materials and basic equipment will be provided but you are welcome to bring additional materials with you

- No pre reading or pre course work is required
- No pre reading is required but research on the subject on the internet or in the library may be helpful
