Songs and Classical Music

On this course you will be able to learn to play pieces with the group on the keyboards or percussion. As well as this we will listen to a classical composer's compositions and discuss. Where possible we will also watch a recording of a performance Additionally we shall sing a range of songs, accompanied by guitars.

Course aim

To practise and play pieces on keyboards and percussion with specific parts. To study the works of a classical composer. To sing a mixture of songs.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed
  • This course is suitable for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Play through one piece on percussion or the keyboards.
  • Have an awareness of a particular composers work.
  • Sing a selection of songs.

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
  • You will be encouraged to consider other students work and give your opinions and suggestions

What else do I need to know?

  • Nothing else is needed
