The Tudor Spin Machine P1 & P2

Ref: C2225513

These eight weeks will be divided into two courses. The first four weeks will be "Meet the Tudors", featuring both Henry and Elizabeth. Henry - Bluff King Hal or the monster who murdered his wives and changed the religion of a country for a woman? Elizabeth - Good Queen Bess - Gloriana or the Virgin Queen? She led the country through turmoil to the beginnings of Empire and killed her cousin, another anointed queen. We will discuss what we know of these two powerful people and how they were seen at the time. The second four weeks will be another introduction, this time to the major figures of the Italian Renaissance. So, "Meet the Rivals" - The four main figures of the seismic shift that art in Italy underwent in the 15th/16th centuries. Each week we shall meet one of them - the grumpy genius Michelangelo, the cerebral magician of light and shapes Leonardo, everyone’s darling - Raphael and the outlier, courted by kings, Titian.
