Music Appreciation

Ref: C2225413

The Bachs to Beethoven: J.S.Bach was the high point of a musical dynasty, but the music of some of his sons also deserves a hearing and the course will show how they built on the styles of their father and how music developed into the Rococo style. This in turn was further developed by Mozart and Haydn and the course will consider the development of the concerto, the symphony and opera as well as exploring the beauties of their chamber music. The course will also deal with the revolutionary style of Beethoven and how his politics and hisc deafness changed the whole approach to composition.
