Students wil have fun by engaging with their children to discuss and draw or make a model of their favourite superhero using a variety of resources available. Through this students will support children's literacry, numerarcy, communication, social developement, creative skills and learning through play.

Course aim

For parents and carers. Opportunity to interact positivey with children in fun practical activities, which supports childs development of skills in communication, behaviour and learning

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed
  • This course is suitable for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Support my child to create a superhero
  • Describe something I helped my child to develop or learn
  • Use a variety of materials and tools to support my child in making a superhero
  • Support my child's literarcy, numerarcy, communication and creative skils
  • Support my child's social development

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning
  • You wil take part in a range of different activities with your tutor and the other students in the class

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion
  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor

What else do I need to know?

  • Nothing else is needed
  • Nothing else is required although you may want to bring a notepad and pen

Pre-course work, reading and information sources

  • No pre reading or pre course work is required

What can I do next?

  • Progress to another WEA course
  • Progress to a course with another provider
  • Become involved with the WEA in a range of voluntary work and other activities including campaigning as a WEA member
