Exploring Life in Motion through Drawing and Monoprint

Ref: C3841557

To coincide with Tate Liverpool's summer exhibition featuring the powerful intimate works of Egon Schiele and Francesca Woodman, this short course will endeavour to study and apply the raw, direct energy and image making practiced by these two distinctive artists. Through a combination of experimental drawings and monoprinting techniques the course aims to help you develop a body of sensitive and emotionally charged drawings from life. Working with a life model for some of the sessions we will use movement and direct mono printmaking methods to express the poetry of life in motion. By the end of the sessions you will have a body of expressively drawn works to discuss at a group Show and Tell and develop further in future projects.

Course aim

To provide a deeper understanding of the works of Schiele and Woodman by engaging in practical monoprinting and mark making processes. Working from life, you will learn how to express movement, sensitivity and energy in the work you develop
