The course is suitable for learners who have little or no previous Arabic skills Learn how to introduce yourself and take part in a simple conservation for use in every day life. Learn how to ask for direction in Arabic and understand information given to you including the road signs Be able to confidently book appointments Learn how to count and tell the time

Course aim

The aim of this course is to help you to communicate and initiate simple social interaction Learn sentences and phrases of every day context that help you to learn the language quickly and effectively.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed
  • This course is for beginners
  • This course is for people with little spoken English
  • This course is welcoming any one who love to improve or to learn how to speak Arabic language .

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • know the alphabet and culture
  • introduce your self and member of family in Arabic and give 10 lines presentation about your self
  • demonstrate ability to use language in everyday situations
  • construct a range of sentences for a range of uses
  • recognise colours and numbers 1-10 in Arabic,

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning
  • You may be asked to undertake additional work in your own time to support your learning
  • You will be expected to carry out a range of activities in your own time

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion
  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
  • A file of work will be kept which will help to record your progress
  • There will be a number of tasks appropriate to your course such as written work, creating art or craft, video, photography or small projects. Some of these may be marked to help you progress

  • Folder to keep your work ,pens and A4 paper pad and pens

Pre-course work, reading and information sources

  • No pre reading or pre course work is required
