The course will help you to feel more confident in your everyday life. You will use real life situations to carry out activities which involve maths, English and computers. The activities will help you to feel more confident when you encounter maths, English or IT in your everyday life

Course aim

To improve maths, English & IT skills To increase confidence when carrying out daily tasks which involve maths, English and IT To prepare learners for an accredited course in either maths, English or IT

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed
  • This course is suitable for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Feel more confident using maths, English & ICT.
  • have the confidence to progress onto an accredited maths, English or IT course
  • Apply the skills learnt on the course when carrying out everyday activities

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion
  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor

What else do I need to know?

  • Nothing else is needed

  • No pre reading or pre course work is required

You can if you meet all of the following requirements:

  • are paying the standard fee or are on any of the qualifying benefits
