A personal development course designed to encourage and motivate people of working age to gain the essential skills and knowledge needed to support employability. The session can help to re-engage the long term unemployed with activities to aid employment prospects.

Part of broader Financial Capability course, delivered by CABs in Liverpool City Region. Project is led by The Women's Organisation. WEA is providing 'soft' Employablilty skills, as part of. Referral onto course is via local CAB

Course aim

Encourage and motivate people of working age to gain employment To help re-engage the long term unemployed with activities that aid employment prospects in the future.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Increase confidence
  • Identify skills and qualities
  • Find your values
  • How to develop SMART objectives

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion

What else do I need to know?

  • Nothing else is needed
