This digital photography course is designed for people who want to learn how to take and create better photographs. For returning students the course will start to take them further with additional challenges.

Course aim

This course will provide a brief introduction to digital photography and concentrate on composition and other fun elements. For returning students there will be extended exercises and a push for further improvement.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed
  • This course is for beginners

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Confidently use their digital camera in a creative manner
  • Produce a series of images to a high standard that are of an interest to them
  • Produce enhanced images using post processing software
  • Demonstrate an enhanced sense of well being as a result of attending this course
  • Produce images which could be of use to the community

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning
  • You may be asked to undertake additional work in your own time to support your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
  • You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning
  • You will be encouraged to consider other students work and give your opinions and suggestions

What else do I need to know?

  • Camera (Phone, Bridge or DSLR), memory cards, notepad and pen Access to a computer to process images as well as email to submit homework - assistance and guidance will be provided.
