The course is for anyone who would like to develop basic sewing skills to make well fitted garments but are not confident in taking measurements and drawing patter .You should able to learn step by step how to take body measurement, researching latest garment design by us IT

Course aim

the aim is for students develop new skills to make new outfit from old clothes. to arrange the students in the community engaging in activities to donate the complete garment to charity.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Research fashion and clothing styles and tips using 2 sources
  • Identify the 2 types of old clothing suitable for recycling
  • Demonstrate 2 techniques for recycling old clothes
  • Break down of cost for the completed item
  • present and review finished product

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion
  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
  • You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning

What else do I need to know?

  • Nothing else is needed
  • All materials will be provided
