The course will look at the events of 1918 including the German offensive, the Allied response which led ultimately to mutiny, revolution and the surrender of Germany. We will also examine the longer term consequences of that defeat.

Course aim
To examine the events and consequences of the final year of the Great War.
Do I need any particular skills or experience?
- No skills or experience needed
By the end of the course I should be able to:
- Describe the events of 1918 within their historical context.
- Explain why the Allies prevailed in 1918.
- Explain why defeat led to revolution and the longer term implications of this.
How will I be taught?
- The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning
What kind of feedback can I expect?
- A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion
