The course will enable participants to shop online and purchase items safely. They will learn how to use PayPal and set up an account if they wish. Participants will also learn how to compare prices. The course will also demonstrate how to sell items online, including writing an advertisement and taking and downloading photographs.

Course aim

This course is suitable for those wishing to make online purchases and sell items online in a safe environment.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • Participants should have keyboard and mouse skills.

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Browse at least 3 websites for items
  • Set up a PayPal account
  • Make at least one online purchase
  • Write an advertisement
  • Take a photo and download it

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion

What else do I need to know?

  • If participants have items they wish to sell they should bring these with them. If participants have their own camera or camera phone, they should bring these with them including batteries and leads.
