This course provides an introduction in the use of tablets (iPads and Android) for email, internet access and entertainment in a relaxed, friendly environment. Every student is catered for individually and the course content will be customised to accommodate the students’ requirements.

Course aim

To provide an introduction to the setting up, managing and using an iPad, Windows or android tablet The students will start to gain the knowledge and confidence to use and manage their tablet for everyday activities

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is suitable for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Use Email on my tablet
  • Connect to and use the internet and use the App/Play/Windows store
  • Use the camera to take photos and videos
  • Use cloud storage to store and share files (photos)

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion

What else do I need to know?

  • Students need to provide their own tablets and will need to know their account information and passwords.

Pre-course work, reading and information sources

  • No pre reading or pre course work is required

What can I do next?

  • Topics covered on the course provide a good understanding of the most frequently used uses of tablets. The students will be able to communicate with others via Email, use the Internet, and take and share photos
