Chair Exercise

Attendees will appreciate the benefits of seated exercise. This course will provide participants with the skills and experience to perform a range of exercises from their chair under guidance from the instructor. Balance, strengthening and flexibility will be increased during balls, resistance bands and weights.

Course aim

This course will enable participants to perform gentle exercises from their chair in a safe and comfortable environment.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed
  • This course is for beginners

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Appreciate the benefits of chair based exercise
  • Perform at least three co-ordination exercises
  • Participate in at least two warm up stretches
  • Engage in a head to toe chair based workout

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion

What else do I need to know?

  • Nothing else is needed
  • All materials will be provided

Pre-course work, reading and information sources

  • No pre reading or pre course work is required
