Drama for Fun

This is a practical drama class for adults with learning and/or physical difficulties. Classes include activities such as warm up exercises, drama games, movement, dance, mime and role play. The course is for all levels of ability and your own supporter would be most welcome.

Course aim

The course provides opportunities to participate in drama and dance activities.You will work together to create your own stories and characters ,with the opportunity to take part in a performance to an audience.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • Anyone with and interest in practical Drama who likes group interaction.

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Contribute to group activities.
  • Participate in drama skills exercises.
  • Use voice/ sound and movement to create a character or tell a story.
  • Work individually and with the group to create pieces of Drama in class.
  • Participate in a performance to an invited audience of friends and family.

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning
  • Creative group work.

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
  • You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning
  • You will be encouraged to consider other students work and give your opinions and suggestions
  • A file of work will be kept which will help to record your progress

  • All materials will be provided
