Day School: American Originals - Jackson Pollock and Mark Rothko

Ref: C3741531

Many major art movements of the 20th century sought to transcend the limitations of purely representational forms and move into the territory of the sublime. As perhaps the most distinctive modern artists of the sublime, Mark Rothko and Jackson Pollock worked to capture art directly as feeling, illuminating the elemental power of feeling beyond form. Using digital technology, we’ll examine a range of their artworks in detail, as well as some of their complex relationships with American art and culture. Everyone welcome.
