Day School - London Livery Companies

Ref: C3741451

From the early middle ages craftsmanship and the production of goods underpinned life in the City of London. The formation of the Weavers Livery Company in the early 15th Century marked the beginning of the system of apprenticeship which was to set the training and expertise for the future of the success of trading. In this course we will consider the wide variety of companies and the way they were structured and functioned within the life of the City. We will concentrate on the establishment of the "Great Twelve" companies which were the leaders in the field.
