Aromatheraphy for Health and Wellbeing

This course will build on a range of massage and relaxation techniques, to be perform and modified while working on each other. A variety of essential oils and mediums will be used to help improve one's health and well-being and build on previous knowledge and understanding.

Course aim

The course will aim to build on relaxation techniques with the use of a variation of aromatherapy oils. You will develop your skills by performing a variety of massage techniques.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed
  • This course is suitable for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Remain grounded while listening to relaxing music
  • Perform 4 or more gentle exercises prior to hand and arm massage
  • Carry out 4 or more basic massage techniques
  • Perform one new techniques to upper back, head, neck and shoulders
  • Demonstrate professional attitude when engaging with others

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
  • You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning
  • You will be encouraged to consider other students work and give your opinions and suggestions

What else do I need to know?

  • A selection of materials and basic equipment will be provided but you are welcome to bring additional materials with you

Pre-course work, reading and information sources

  • No pre reading or pre course work is required
