Gentle Exercise which can be chair based for some students. It will help with improving health and make you active. It will make you more socially active as well.

Course aim

This course will help to promote physical activities and health and wellbeing. It will also help to reduce isolation and help with long term illness.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed
  • This course is suitable for beginners and improvers
  • This course is for people with little spoken English
  • This course is for women only as it is held in a women's centre

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Develop a simple way of improving mood swings and increase confidence.
  • Improve health and well-being, alleviating anxiety and depression.
  • Talk about one way you have been able to reduce stress.
  • State how you fitness levels have increased through Gentle exercise.
  • Encourage my family members to include more vegetable and fruit in daily diet

How will I be taught?

  • You may be asked to undertake additional work in your own time to support your learning
  • You will be expected to carry out a range of activities in your own time

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
  • You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning
  • You will be encouraged to consider other students work and give your opinions and suggestions
  • A file of work will be kept which will help to record your progress
  • There will be a number of tasks appropriate to your course such as written work, creating art or craft, video, photography or small projects. Some of these may be marked to help you progress

  • Nothing else is needed
  • All materials will be provided
