Targeted at beginners and intermediate learners, this course will be about learning techniques in different media with support from your tutor You will work at your own pace and will work with a variety of both wet and dry media. This course is for complete beginners and those that want to build on their confidence and skills.

Course aim

To gain skills in some aspects of drawing and painting, in a friendly and supportive environment. Demonstrations and discussions guide your learning into the amazing world of art!

  • This course is suitable for beginners and improvers

  • Learn new skills and techniques
  • Create something that you are proud of
  • Gain relaxation and improve your well being by immersing yourself in art

  • You may be asked to undertake additional work in your own time to support your learning

  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
  • You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning

What else do I need to know?

  • A selection of materials and basic equipment will be provided but you are welcome to bring additional materials with you

Pre-course work, reading and information sources

  • No pre reading is required but research on the subject on the internet or in the library may be helpful
