Italian Speaking Skills for Holidays (for Beginners/Improvers)

This is a handy and easy course to be able to learn the speaking skills you need to survive during a holiday in Italy. You will learn how to order in a cafè or in a restaurant, how to ask for directions in towns, how to buy tickets and how check in at the hotel. You will learn mainly practicing through role playing and by listening and repeating new phrases in a variety of exercises.

Course aim

This course will provide you with the survival kit you will need to enjoy your holidays in Italy.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed
  • This course is suitable for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • give examples of how to order food and drinks
  • use a variety of expressions to comment on food
  • demonstrate how to ask for directions
  • explain how to buy a bus/train ticket and ask for information
  • demonstrate how to check in at the hotel and book a room

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion
  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor

  • Nothing else is needed
  • All materials will be provided
