Within this course it will give basic users the ability to improve their skills at typing and formatting a document, importing pictures and improving their presentation skills. As well as this, it will help build confidence and use of literacy. We will also have the opportunity to browse the internet, learn how to shop online and set up e-mail accounts and use this to send and receive e-mails.

Course aim

The aim of this course is to introduce and encourage the use of computer in order to do word processing, PowerPoint and use of pictures, using the internet and set up and use e mails.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for beginners

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Using word processing and formatting
  • Using PowerPoint
  • Using the Internet to search browse and shop online
  • Setting up and sending and receiving e mails

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion
  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
  • You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning

What else do I need to know?

  • You will need to bring a USB stick to save your work on.
