The course will provide you with the support you need to create and apply for various job vacancies using your ICT skills. You will gain valuable expertise in how an interview should be conducted and gain help with interview scenarios. If you want to gain this valuable skill then please contact the WEA. These are important skills of Employability and ICT.

Course aim

The course aim is to provide support to learners who are looking for employment. Using ICT in order to create CVs and apply for job vacancies.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is suitable for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Write a CV.
  • Search for job vacancies using ICT.
  • Apply and fill in job applications.
  • Write a personal statement.
  • Know how to conduct myself and answer questions in a confident way in an interview.

How will I be taught?

  • You may be asked to undertake additional work in your own time to support your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion
  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
  • You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning

What else do I need to know?

  • A selection of materials and basic equipment will be provided but you are welcome to bring additional materials with you

Pre-course work, reading and information sources

  • No pre reading is required but research on the subject on the internet or in the library may be helpful
