Aromatheraphy for Health and Wellbeing

This course will introduce a range of massage and relaxation techniques, to be performed and modified while working on each other. A variety of essential oils and mediums will be used to help improve one's health and well-being and build on previous knowledge and understanding.

Course aim

The course will aim to introduce basic relaxation techniques with the use of aromatherapy oils. You will also perform some basic massage techniques and recognise how to use aromatherapy to improve one's health and well-being.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed
  • This course is suitable for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Be able to remain grounded while listening to relaxing music.
  • Be able to perform a range of gentle exercises prior to hand and arm massage.
  • Be able to carry out a range of massage techniques.
  • Be able to perform new techniques to upper back, head, neck and shoulders.
  • Be able to demonstrate professionalism.

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
  • A file of work will be kept which will help to record your progress
