Course aim

To provide stimulating and interesting information of the three Richards and their times.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is for improvers
  • Students need a Level 1 qualification in English to join this course
  • The course is suitable for all people who take an interest in English history.

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Explain the difficulties of the 2 reigns with baronial conflict.
  • Describe varied historical interpretations of the reigns.
  • Express personal opinions about the reigns of the three Richards.
  • Compare and contrast key aspects of the three kingships.

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning
  • There will be opportunities for class discussion and a reading list will be offered.

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion
  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor

  • Nothing else is needed
  • All materials will be provided

  • No pre reading is required but a reading list will be offered and some pre reading may be useful
