'Every Picture tells a Story' Continued

Ref: C3671297

Victorian narrative pictures are legible, entertaining, thought provoking, stimulating, moving; the visual equivalent of chapters from Dickens, Eliott or Thackeray. These pictures provide a fascinating insight into the attitudes, values and morals of this crucial period of British cultural history. In this illustrated lecture course we will be turning Sherlock Holmes' deductive reasoning on the visual legacy of the Victorian world, to find out what fun it is to retrieve the lost art of "reading" pictures. This course continues from the previous term, but attendance of Part 1 is not required to enjoy the subject
