This supportive 'Christmas Creative Crafts' course will enable students to try different 'cost effective' Christmas crafts to create a variety of decorative items for gifts and pleasure. The course is aimed to improve your wellbeing and confidence through participating in fun and relaxing craft activities. This course will include such crafts as: textile crafting, card/paper crafts, painting on a variety of materials and Christmas trimmings. This friendly and relaxed course caters for everyone who has an interest in crafting, working with their hands, learning new skills and techniques as well as the sharing of ideas.

- This course is suitable for beginners and improvers

What topics will this course cover

- The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What will it be like?

WEA classes are friendly and supportive. You will be encouraged to work together with your fellow students and tutor. You will be asked to share your ideas and views in the class and work with the group to give and accept feedback in a supportive environment. The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you to be actively involved in your learning. You may be asked to undertake work to support your course outside of your class.

By the end of the course I should be able to:

Identify existing craft levels - painting, drawing, working with different materials and techniques Produce a range of projects which reflect your personal creativity Produce a range of paper craft resources using different designs and techniques Create a felt project which incorporates different recycled resources Establish ways to relax outside the classroom through skills developed during the course

How will I know I'm making progress?

- A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion - You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor - You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning - You will be encouraged to consider other students work and give your opinions and suggestions

What else do I need to know, do or bring?

- A selection of materials and basic equipment will be provided but you are welcome to bring additional materials with you
